About
Patrik Zukal, web and application developer in Prague.
I design, build, repair and take over websites and applications. I work on my own, with no agency, so the person you talk to is the person who does the work. Clients come from across Czechia and abroad, and we work in English or Czech.

How I got into the web
Before I started programming I ran shifts in a restaurant. That is why on every project I first ask how the business actually works, and only then what goes on the homepage.
Operations systems are where I stayed. Iuriverse, software for law firms, is my own product. On Vystaveno, a system for point of sale, stock and reservations, I am the lead developer.
I take client sites as a whole job, from structure and copy to launch. I take over sites someone else wrote and finish the ones left half-built. For design studios I build production sites from their finished designs, under their name.
How I work
What working with me looks like
You deal with me directly
From the first call to launch you talk to one person. Whoever promises you the site is the one who builds it.
I look first, then I quote
An existing site gets a free review, with findings in your inbox within three working days. For a new site I ask about scope, then give one figure for the whole job. No hourly rates.
The site, domain and data are yours
The code, the domain, the hosting and the data belong to you. At the end every login is in your hands, and changes never wait on anyone else.
A site has a job to do
Before I start I want to know what the site should bring: enquiries, orders or less manual work. The structure and the copy follow from that.

„After a long time we finally feel that our websites are in good hands.“
Full quote
Mr Zukal looks after our websites artcapita.cz and stuccodecor.cz and we are more than satisfied with his work. After a long time we finally feel that our websites are in good hands. I would even say that Mr Zukal's work and approach stand in sharp contrast to what is usual in the Czech market, or at least to what we had come across so far. I can only recommend him!
„I really value your reliability, professional approach and keeping to every agreed deadline, one hundred percent.“

I am more than satisfied with our cooperation. I really value your reliability, professional approach and keeping to every agreed deadline, one hundred percent. Thank you for excellent work.
„The site is full of animation and still loads fast.“
Full quote
We handed Patrik a finished design and a precise idea of the motion, and he brought it into the browser without compromise. He took care on his own that the movement stayed smooth on weaker phones, which we never had to chase. The site is full of animation and still loads fast. Next time we have a project where the detail matters, we are calling him.
„Patrik built the identity and the whole site so that it feels dignified and promises nothing it cannot keep.“
Full quote
In my field most websites look cheap and untrustworthy, and that was exactly my problem. Patrik built the identity and the whole site so that it feels dignified and promises nothing it cannot keep. What I appreciate most is that he proposed a site with no tracking cookies himself, because my clients care about their privacy.
„If you're after a solid analysis, I can recommend Patrik.“
Full quote
I don't do this often, but I've been reading Patrik Zukal's report and I have to say it surprised me. I handed him one of my own sites and I'm glad someone actually took a proper look at it. If you're after a solid analysis, I can recommend Patrik.

Questions
What people ask before they write
- Are you an agency or one person?
- One person. Design, copy, development and launch are all mine, so you know exactly who is working on your site.
- Where are you based? Do you work outside Prague?
- I am based in Prague, and my business is registered in Žďár nad Sázavou. I work for companies across Czechia and abroad, mostly online, so distance does not matter.
- What does a website cost?
- A business card site is 10,000 to 20,000 CZK, a company website from 15,000 CZK depending on scope, an e-shop 20,000 to 60,000 CZK and a web application from 80,000 CZK. Repairs and redesigns are priced after the free review. I am not a VAT payer, so prices are final.
- How fast do you reply?
- Within three working days, and the reply comes from me, not an assistant or an autoresponder.
- Do you work in English?
- Yes. I build sites in English and Czech, and we can handle email and calls in English.
- Who do you work for?
- Small and mid-sized companies, e-shops and design studios. Clients include StuccoDecor, Zeleň bez starostí, Ukotvený muž, Express-Překlady and vondrart.studio.
